We are officially winding down to our end of the year activities and the rest of June will be filled with fun for all kids and family. If you still need to make up your final, please be here on time (3PM) on Saturday to ensure you start on time.

Saturday Gurmukhi & Gurmat Class was full of Vaisakhi information and review. Students also went over Muharni and Vowel Sounds in Gurmukhi Class and rehearsed form and procedure for Hukamnama in Gurmat Class. Upper level got to work on their Baba Deep Singh Ji comic books.
On Sunday, we had kirtan class and tabla class, where students practiced their Vaisakhi and AKJ Raensbaayee shabads. Everyone was wearing their sky blue NEW uniforms for Vaisakhi and all pictures can be viewed on our Flickr Account.

Saturday was comprised of our Khalsa School Medford and grown-ups heading over to NYC for the NYC Sikh Day Parade 2025. Everyone was wearing their sky blue NEW uniforms for Vaisakhi and all pictures can be viewed on our Flickr Account.
Sunday was a relaxed day after the parade. We orked on our Nitnem Bani memorization and did kirtan class with Harsift Bhenji. We also went over the routines and pictures from NYC's Sikh Day Parade 2025. A Parents' Meeting happened at 2 and we confirmed some end of the year dates.

Gatka Class was all about our warm ups and we headed straight for our demos for Vaisakhi 2025, and we practiced for our Gatka performance on March 30th.

Khalsa School Medford's final week was pretty eventful. We celebrated Baba Fateh Singh Ji's Janam Divas with a Chaar Sahibzaade: The Rise of Banda Singh Bahadur Film followed by a Kirtan Night.

Khalsa School Medford's Saturday was filled with fall semester final exams. Sunday class was filled with our last offical kirtan, tabla and gatka classes for the 2024 school year. We will resume unofficial classes during Sundays during the break.
The 4th Annual East Coast Dharmic Competition has one more week of competitions happening and finalists will be announced December 15th. All of the students that participated received trophies and awards for their hard work. We hope to continue this tradition next year. Our finalists will be heading over to Pine Hill, New Jersey Gurdwara for final results. Congratulations to everyone who was part of this momentous event!

Khalsa School Medford's Saturday was filled with the 4th Annual East Coast Dharmic Competition and no offical Khalsa School class. All of the students that participated received trophies and awards for their hard work. We hope to continue this tradition next year. Our finalists will be heading over to Pine Hill, New Jersey Gurdwara for final results. Congratulations to everyone who was part of this momentous event!

Saturday classes consisted of more work towards students' letters and perfecting their muharni. We also introduced students to audio of spoken Punjabi and had students interpret their meanings. Note: there will be a Quiz on our Weather Wall for Upper Level this coming Saturday.

Khalsa School Medford's sixth week began with Sikhi Day Camp with Special Guest Speaker, Bhai Gurbhej Singh Ji (Khalsa Ji). Khalsa Ji spoke with the youth and the adults separately and shared his jeevan and vichaars with the sanagat on Sikhi Day Camp. Bhai Gurbhej Singh Ji stayed on the theme of being good Sikhs and emphasized the importance of following the rules and rehat of Sikhi to the youth.
Sikhi Day Camp also had guest Speaker Bhai Gagandeep Singh Ji New York (via Zoom) who showcased a review from a recent morcha involving beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib Ji in New York as well as a discussion on grooming. Gatka and games were played and prizes were given. On Sunday, both kirtan classes are getting ready to learn their next shabad of the school year. We hope to keep all of the students on the same path for kirtan and to continue having them on stage to perform.

Khalsa School Medford's fourth week began with a review from week 3 and a continuation of kirtan for Sunday. Beginner class performed their shabad "Sevak Ki Ardas Pyaare" with Bibi Harsift Kaur Ji on stage and it was a success.
Sunday's class consisted of more kirtan and tabla class. We have emphasized the importance of incorporating simran into kirtan during our tabla classes and now we are implementing it to our kirtan on stage. We hope to continue these efforts in the next week!

Khalsa School Medford's third week began with a deep dive of Ardas for the beginner and upper level students. We talked about what it means to stand up and pray during Ardas. The stanzas of Ardas and up until "Aap Ji De Hazoor"--we talked about what types of things people do Ardas for.
Sunday's class consisted of more kirtan and tabla class. We have emphasized the importance of incorporating simran into kirtan during our tabla classes. We have shared what the homework is on the WhatsApp group. Gatka class consisted of continued learning and adding gymnastic moves to some of our vaars (how exciting!).

Khalsa School Medford had its second week and we must say that it was a strong week of classes. Saturday classes began with a mix of quizzes and assessments while on Sunday, we had gatka and ice cream. Next class will be on Saturday promptly at 3PM. Khalsa School Medford opened its doors for the first day of school with a vibrant mix of excitement and anticipation. Students, dressed in traditional uniforms, were warmly welcomed by teachers and staff, who were eager to begin another year of learning rooted in Sikh values and academic excellence. The day started with a communal prayer, reinforcing the school’s commitment to spiritual growth alongside education. Classrooms buzzed with energy as students reconnected with friends and familiarized themselves with new routines and lessons. The school's focus on both academic rigor and cultural heritage was evident as students participated in activities that honored Sikh traditions while fostering critical thinking and curiosity.
We will continue to have classes every Saturday (from 3PM and onwards) and Sunday (from morning Kirtan Seva to the regular 2 PM - 4:30 PM classes).
This weekend, we will have classes alongside the Kirtan Night! (Details Below)
